Year 3A

Miss Heys

Spring Term 2022

Happy New Year to you all.

It is lovely to be back in school with your children.

I have enjoyed hearing about all the fun they have had over the Christmas holidays.

The children have had a great couple of weeks so far in school.

During the Spring term we will be learning in class:

English

We are currently looking at the myths and legends text Romulus and Remus. We will learn the text using the Talk 4 writing method and look at the features that make up the text. This will then allow us to write our own Mythical text.

Maths

We are continuing to learn how to multiply and divide by 3, 4, and 8 and will be then moving on to multiplying and dividing 2 and 3 digit numbers. It would be very beneficial if you could help your child to practise their times tables as this will help them with their work in class.

Science

We have just begun our topic - animals including humans. During this we will be learning about what humans and animals need to survive, the skeletons and muscles of them and the food and nutrients they eat.

Topic

Our topic this term is 'The Romans' and we have lots of fun and exciting lessons to look forward to.

Next week we will be welcoming in a visitor to tell us what life in Roman times was like.

We will be looking at the Roman Empire, what Roman's did for entertainment and what changes the Romans made to Britain.

We will continue to keep you updated on our Class Dojo page with photographs and messages and we will update you with key information on here too. Thank you for all your lovely messages about our learning.

Please use the links at the bottom of this page to access key information or learning with your children.

Reminders:

  • Homework be sent out on Fridays. The children will be given the work in their blue books. It needs to be completed at home and it will be due back on the Wednesday the following week.
  • Every Friday your child will bring home a new spelling list to practise, ready for a spelling test on Friday morning. Please help your child to learn these.
  • Children are expected to read regularly at home and have their reading records signed. It would be ideal if this could be done each evening.
  • PE will again be on Wednesday mornings. The children will need to keep their kit in school until the end of the term when they will be able to bring it home to wash. If your chid did not have their kit today could you please ensure it is in for next week.

As always if you have any worries or concerns please do not hesitate to get in touch either through Class Dojo or by arranging to see me after school via the office.

We are looking forward to another amazing term with Year 3A.

Thank you,

Miss Heys and Mrs Beg
