St Joseph's Day 2023

Ladyewell Staff Retreat

The Blessing of the St Joseph statue in school- Tuesday 22nd May 2018. We were joined by our chair of Governors, Mrs McGrath and the nuns from Little Sisters of the Poor who donated the statue to us. They also brought us books all about Jeanne Jugan the founder of the Little Sisters. Father Millar blessed the statue. It was a very special moment. We are going to further develop this area as a prayer garden- a place of quiet, peace, prayer and reflection.

At our school we worship with thanksgiving, adoration, praise, contrition and petition - We pray together in many different ways.

On Monday 9th April, Mrs Monaghan, Mr Kay and 2 children (Mackenzie and Abigial) travelled to the Cathedral in Lancaster to celebrate the Episcopal ordination of our new Bishop of Lancaster, Canon Paul Swarbrick.

It was a wonderful celebration off Ordination and Mass with over 100 priests, 50 bishops from all over England and the Archbishop of Westminster, Vincent Nicholls in attendance.

A spiritually uplifting day of celebration, ceremony and prayer. We were very fortunate as a school to be part of it.

Here is our new Bishop- Bishop Paul Swarbrick- We pray for him to be our Good Shepherd over Lancaster Diocese
