What have we been up to? Take a peek!

The children have made “ junk” model castles. They practised and used lots of different skills to make them. They talked about the things they wanted on their castle and how they wanted it to look. They explored different ways of making things stick,  pva glue, Pritt stick glue, sticky tape and masking tape. They explored cutting different materials such as paper, cardboard and plastic. More importantly they were confident enough to ask for help when they needed it! Some children made castles together, others worked alone. Come and see the end results in nursery and ask the children about their absolutely fantastic creations.

The making of our castles fit for a prince and princess!

We looked at the patterns on some snakes and noticed their patterns. We made our own repeating pattern by threading cotton reels and beads on some string.

St. Joseph’s day 2018. We used a hammer and nails to make a wooden cross. We were carpenters just like St. Joseph!

We made hot cross buns for Easter.

We have played with shapes, sung some songs and smiled for Mother’s Day!

This week we have been celebrating Chinese New Year. We made lanterns, our cutting skills are getting very good! We did dragon and lion dances and ate some Chinese food using chopsticks.

We moved in time to the Chinese music
