The Grand Final of St Joseph’s Got Talent (SJGT) was held this afternoon and the acts did not disappoint. The judges and audience were blown away by the talent on show – a diverse mix of ages and skill-sets – gymnasts, singers, dancers and comedians. It proved very difficult for our judges to select the winners.
Congratulations go to Ivy (3rd place), Shayaan (2nd place) and, with his total command of the audience, our overall winner, Morgan. Well done to all of the children who entered the competition, our school is truly blessed with gifted children. Thank you to Miss Ritson for putting it all together and our three judges, Mrs Monaghan, Mrs Owens & Mr Gaughan.
23 children across KS2 celebrated the Sacrament of the Holy Eucharist in church on Sunday 11th June 2023
The children we very well prepared by Mrs LaRoque and were reverent and graceful when they received the Sacrament. We then celebrated mass at Ladyewell with the other schools in our church cluster of St John XXIII. We explored the grounds and had a fabulous day.
Well Done children on receiving this Sacrament and the Sacrament of Reconciliation too.
The children have been celebrating King Charles III’s coronation in school today. Ethan shared his knowledge about King Charles by delivering a specially prepared presentation at today’s assembly, all the children enjoyed a wonderful coronation lunch and individual classes have linked their lessons to this weekend’s historical event. The children looked wonderful dressed in red, white and blue and have enjoyed running around the playground with balloons, flags and crowns.
Responding to the wishes of Bishop Swarbrick, on 1st December 2022, St Joseph's Catholic Primary School became part of the Mater Ecclesiae Catholic Multi Academy Trust. We were one of seven schools to join in Phase 1 of the conversion process, which will eventually be made up of the 23 Catholic primary and secondary schools in the wider Preston area. We have already developed opportunities for our schools to work and grow together as “One Family in Christ” and we look forward to deepening our relationships with our wider family of schools.

From 11 January in England, people who receive positive lateral flow device (LFD) test results for coronavirus (COVID-19) will be required to self-isolate immediately and won’t be required to take a confirmatory PCR test.
This is a temporary measure while COVID-19 rates remain high across the UK. Whilst levels of COVID-19 are high, the vast majority of people with positive LFD results can be confident that they have COVID-19.
