LO: To spell words with the sh sound spelt ‘ch’
Some English words have been taken from other languages. English have borrowed a lot of words from French. When we spell these words they are spelt with a ch even though it sounds like ‘sh’.
Look at each of the words below that are spelt with a ch but sound like sh. Write them out in different colours to help you remember how to spell them. Find out the meaning of each word. Remember, the ‘ch’ makes a sh sound.
