Story telling week

We have had a fabulous week following Julia Donaldson and her fantastic stories. We have had a visit from an author / illustrator and have competed in a poetry competition. The story we chose to learn about was ‘Zog’ and the children have created some brilliant art work, written character descriptions and created a set of instructions explaining how to train a dragon. We also made some delicious dinosaur biscuits! A superb week of learning, well done to all the children.

We have just started our new topic ‘traditional stories.’ Our story we are following is Hansel and Gretel. Have a look at some of the activities we are doing. Our aim is to create an innovated story and write letters to the nasty witch.

We follow a story map to help us re-tell the story.
