LO: To add the suffix –ly to root words.
When we add –ly onto an adjective like nice it turns it into an adverb (nicely). For some root words we can just add ly straight onto the root word.
Look at each of the adjectives below. All an –ly suffix to make them into an adverb. Remember- if the word ends in an –le you must swap the –le for an –ly.
Find out the meaning of any words that you are unsure of. |
