On the 11th October Year 5/6 had a wonderful day at Miss Bell's farm because they were wonderful and well behaved during her PE lessons, and won the most stable points from the school. They spent the day Orienteering, horse riding, grooming the ponies and trampolining. They ate their pack lunches outside in Miss Bell's special hut and they really enjoyed themselves, for some children it was their first experience of riding a horse.
I am very proud of how our school council elections have been carried out. The children have voted democratically in the hall. They have all chosen people who would be represent their school rather than just voting for their friends. They are a going to make a great team giving our children a voice in school. Well done to them all!
This week we celebrated Harvest at the Year 3/4 Class Assembly. Many parents were in attendance and it was fantastic that they came into the classroom for a coffee and biscuit with their children afterwards. Thank you all for the wonderful amount of food that you kindly donated. It will be given to our local food banks shortly and as you know it is all for a worthwhile cause.
The School Council elections have taken place today. (Tuesday 12th October) The children all voted democratically in the hall with real ballot boxes and voting slips. Miss Gregson will be leading the school council meetings- more details to follow. The elected members from Year 2 to Year 6 will be announced in Assembly on Friday morning.
We are very proud of how the children voted democratically, thinking about who would best represent their class
I thank all the parents who attended the reading workshop in great numbers. It was a very well attended event and hopefully useful to you for supporting your child at home with reading. We will run another session for parents after half term on supporting your child to read and developing vocabulary.
Please visit our Gallery Page in the Class Pages section to see the training video shown to the parents in the reading workshop.
