• Robin Hood at SJPS

  The Pantomime of Robin Hood in the Sports hall was amazing. The children all enjoyed the performance and are busy writing all about it in school

  

• SJPS Choir

  The choir performed at Morrisons - a mixture of carols and Christmas jingles. They were superb. Thank you to all the parents for attending.

  

• KS1 Lancashire Fire Service Visit

  Our Key Stage 1 children were very lucky on Thursday afternoon as the Lancashire Fire Rescue Team came and visited our school, they told us all about fire safety and how to get out safely when there is a fire.

• Sacrament of Confirmation

  on Tuesday evening Mackenzie in year 6 received the Sacrament of Confirmation at St Josephs's church. The Bishop of Lancaster celebrated Mass with us all. Well done Mackenzie. He chose St Anthony as his Confirmation name. Patron Saint of lost things.

  

• Schools Shakespeare Festival

  This year, some of the children of St Joseph's have had the opportunity to participate in the Shakespeare Schools Festival. This is an opportunity for children across the country to put on a performance of one of William Shakespeare's plays in a real theatre.

  Children worked very hard to learn their lines and perfect their performance of Macbeth. On Tuesday 7th November, they performed their piece at Preston Guild Hall in front of a large audience with stage lights. It was a fantastic experience for all of the children and they thoroughly enjoyed it.

• Salvation Army

  Poppy and Amber in Year 1 delivered harvest parcels to the Salvation Army after their Harvest assembly – Well done girls.

  

• SJPS Choir 2017

  Our choir are already busy rehearsing for our Christmas performances.

  They sound angelic, powerful and tuneful in equal measure.

  They are excited to be performing at the Morrisons, St Joseph’s church, and an Old people’s home.

  Well Done everyone!

  

• Children in Need

  Mon 13 Nov 2017

  The whole school joined in raising money for Children in Need on Monday by having a pyjama day. We also had a special assembly where all the different characters had a dance off – the overall winners were the Superhero’s. We were then visited by Pudsey Bear himself who greeted the children and parents on the playground.
