The Open day on Friday 16 November, St Joseph’s was a buzz with people. It was our open day. ‘Past, Present and Future’ pupils were invited to come and visit our fantastic school and see what ‘goes on inside’. A welcome was made by the headteacher, Cath Monaghan informing our guests of what was in store for them. On tables in the school hall there were a plethora of photos, books, behaviour records from years gone by. The past pupils were fascinated and amazed when they found records of when they were baptised, had their First Holy Communion and Confirmation. Tours were taken by the school council across the whole school. Trumpet lessons, art lessons, science lessons, PE lessons were taking place so lots of interesting activities for them to see. They were amazed by our brilliant playground and the equipment we have.
The afternoon was a great success and will be repeated next year as many positive comments were received.
Please come along and visit our school in action. We are opening our doors to past pupils and prospective parents to come along and enjoy refreshments, photographs of the school and a tour around school.
We hope you can join us Friday 16th November from 1:30pm -3pm
I look forward to meeting you personally on that afternoon
Mrs Monaghan
Each Wednesday in our Sports and Arts centre. Adult only classes to learn English from 7-9pm- All welcome
The Macmillan coffee morning was a huge success again raising £200.
Thank you to all the parents, grandparents, little brothers, sisters and babies who joined us to raise money for such an important charity.
The staff team worked so well together to make it so meaningful for the community and the children.
The parents enjoyed coffee in the hall, next the children all got a cake too and then congregated on the new playground
Father Millar then blessed the playground. Cash for kids attended to see the wonderful Trim trail they have raised fund for.
The morning was suitably finished off with our annual balloon race. The balloon release was a very special moment. The balloons soared into the sky and blew towards Blackpool and the Irish sea-
We used biodegradable balloons this year to be kind to the environment and reduce plastic.
We await to see who the winning balloon is.
Wishing everyone who bought a balloon- the luck of the Irish

Our new playground looks simply AMAZING!!!!!
We now have a new trim trail, a climbing frame, a multi use games area (MUGA), football and basketball areas, a stage and benching area and we have spruced up our garden. Many thanks to all the staff, parents and families for making this happen. SJPS is now a place of fun play and healthy activity at playtimes and lunchtimes. The children love it!!
