    Our Reception class is part of a welcoming and happy environment at St Joseph’s and we know that your children will enjoy learning with us.

  • 2020 St Joseph’s Got Talent Winner

    The votes have now been counted and we can announce that the winner of this year’s St Joseph’s Got Talent is Ethan Jackson (Act 7 – Glockenspiel). It was a very close result with all the finalists separated by just a handful of votes. Thank you to all those that voted and congratulations to Ethan for sharing his musical talents with us. Ethan will be presented with the trophy on his return to school in September.

    Thank you to all the children who entered this year’s St Joseph’s Got Talent – what an amazingly talented bunch. Staff have been so impressed with both the variety and quality of the acts that we have decided to award prizes for all entries.

  • St. Joseph's Got Talent Competition

    St. Joseph's Got Talent

    The St. Joseph's Got Talent event (originally scheduled for Friday 26th June) will now be held virtually. This will provide the children with a brilliant opportunity to showcase their many talents (sport, magic, singing, dancing, gymnastics, comedy, poetry etc). Video entries (maximum length of 2 minutes) can be submitted between now and the deadline of 26th June.

    The judges will choose one winner from each class to go forward to the Grand Final. These will then be added to the school website to be enjoyed by the wider school community before deciding on the overall winner.

    Please use this time to rehearse, polish and record your entry and then submit it to our competition email address:

    There are loads of prizes to be won!

    Dear Parents

    In light of the current situation with Covid 19, some families will have been financially affected and may now be eligible to apply for Free School Meals. The eligibility criteria is below.

     

    Your child may be able to get free school meals if you get any of the following:

    • Universal Credit with a household income of less than £7,400 a year (after tax and not including any benefits you get)
    • Income-Based Jobseekers' Allowance
    • Income-Related Employment and Support Allowance
    • Child Tax Credit, not entitled to Working Tax Credit and household income less than £16,190
    • Support under part VI of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999
    • Guarantee element of State Pension Credit
    • Income Support
    • Working Tax Credit 'run on' – the payment you receive for a further four weeks after you finish work

     

    If you are not currently claiming FSM but think you now may be able to, then please follow the online application via the Lancashire County Council website:

    After Easter, and during this temporary closure of school, the provision of Free School Meals will be made via a voucher system. The vouchers will be emailed to eligible families at a rate of £15 per child per week during term time.  They can then be spent in a number of supermarkets on food items and toiletries.

    More information will be sent to eligible families in due course.

     

     

  • COVID-19 School Update

    SCHOOL CLOSURE

    1 of 2: From Friday 20th March at 3pm , EVERY child who can be safely cared for at home should stay at home. We strongly advise parents to keep their children at home to prevent the virus from spreading.

     

    2 of 2: The key worker list has been announced. Please see attached. Any person who fits the official key worker criteria and does NOT have childcare at home needs to provide their badge/I.D and their work schedule to the office preferably by Friday 20th March at 4pm. This applies to children in Nursery - Year 6.

     

    Further details will then be sent regarding Monday 23rd March .
