Thank you so much to all our families, governors, friends and children for supporting our annual coffee morning and balloon race. The hall was a hub of conversation, chatter and good times.
Thank you also to all the staff who organised the event and the parents who baked or bought cakes. It was lovely to see you all. All money raised will go to Macmillan. I hope the balloons sail high and go further than Leeds this year. The balloon that travels the furthest will win a tablet!
FREE Maths courses will help you develop skills for home, work or if you are looking for employment.
Classes are small, friendly and supportive, allowing you to grow in confidence at your own pace.

This year we gave parents opportunity to come and meet their child’s classteacher in September. Parents in great numbers came to the ‘Meet the teacher’ event. They were informed about learning and arrangements in their new classes; homework, P.E, expectations, standards, website learning support and communication in school. This was positively welcomed by parents. It was lovely to see many parents and their families around school.
Please have a look at the pictures below.
God asks us to work as his stewards to look after our world.
So we are working with Preston City Council (PCC) to improve the state of some of our alleyways around our community. PCC have taught the children about what recycling should go in which bins and what should go in our black bin. We have then given out leaflets. We are also creating a team of children to litter pick, work on improving our environment and being champions for the community. All families will be sent home the recycling and refuse leaflet in their own language to help parents to also know all about ‘rubbish’. Our children can help their parents make sure the right bins are used and the alleyways can become clean for everyone and inviting places to play.
We have had a great start to the season at SJPS. On Saturday 9th September the football team visited Deepdale and competed in the penalty shootout at half time. They won 8 – 3.
On Tuesday 12th we entered the first ever cycling competition for Preston schools. The team had to ride BMXs, they had to do a time trail, mountain bike course and timed skills and speed test. The team, Ray Evens, Kye Allen, Grace Powell and Libbie Nagy worked really hard and we came away with Gold out of 15 schools. We start the season at the top of the Preston schools’ championship league table.
