Maths

During our statistics topic in maths the children were given the question, 'The most popular colour in a jelly bean packet is red'.

The children then had to see if this was true or false.

Each group had a packet of jelly beans and had to create a tally chart for the colours in the packet.

They then had to present this information either in a bar graph or pictogram.

I think you will agree that they have done a great job and they found out that it was false, red is not the most popular colour in the packet.

Today in our maths lesson we have been dividing by 8. The children had to use their problem solving skills as they were given a certain number of snacks which they then had to divide between 8.

The children had lots of fun and worked together very well. The best bit was they got to eat the goodies once they had divided them by 8.

Over the last few weeks we have been learning all about place value in maths.

We have been looking at number lines, 3-digit numbers and counting in 10's, 100's and 50's.

Below are some pictures of us enjoying our maths lessons.
