Breaking News - Newspapers
Breaking News !! A crime scene was found in the Year 3/4 classroom. Bits of metal were scattered across the room. This term the children will be learning how to read a newspaper, identify the features and write their own versions. The physical newspapers are becoming a thing of the past but if you do have access to newspapers at home please share them with your children.
Guided Reading
'The Iron Man' by Ted Hughes is our novel this term. We are using it during our Guided Reading sessions. The children are learning to read with intonation and pronunciation, learn new and interesting vocabulary and improve their comprehension skills.
Following Instructions
Our genre this term is 'Instructions' and to hook the children in I gave them the task of following instructions to make a paper hat. Lots of fun and mistakes were made at the beginning but thankfully at the end all children were successful.
