Nursery- Mrs. Hardwick

Mrs Hardwick

This week has been healthy living week. We have looked at how we can stay healthy, by eating things that are good for us, excercising and keeping ourselves clean.

We made fruit smoothies and talked about eating regular meals. We made toast for breakfast and did a survey of what we ate for our breakfast.  We had a wonderful sports day in the big hall. We looked at the affect of different liquids on our teeth, we used egg shell as it is very similar to our teeth. We learned the importance of brushing our teeth.

Nursery Sports Day

Testing the egg shells to see what happens when we put them in different liquids.

Welcome back to nursery after the Easter break.

Our topic for the first half of the summer term is 'Food Glorious Food' The children will be looking at foods that are good for them and those foods that are not so good. We will observe the effect of exercise on our bodies and why we eat certain things. Our stories will include, The Very Hungry Caterpillar by Eric Carle, Oliver's Vegetables by by Alison Bartlett and Vivian French, Handa's Surprise by by Eileen Browne. We will look at the work of an artist who used fruit and vegetables in his paintings, Giuseppe Archimboldo.

We planted some plants in the borders at Christ the King.

Happy St. Joseph's day everyone!

St Joseph’s Nursery is an established Nursery with an experienced class teacher and staff. We offer 15 hour free entitlement places for children after their 3rd birthday, (There is no additional ‘top up’ option available),  for 5 mornings per week.

We offer exciting first hand experiences for children and aim to help them develop on a personal, social and emotional level through play and adult led activities. Through careful observations we identify children’s needs and plan activities to meet them.

Our team of staff work hard to help children settle into the regular routines and develop secure relationships. We endeavour to establish a close partnership with you, working as a team to share and celebrate your child’s progress.

We have a fantastic outdoor area and we encourage our children to explore both the internal and external environment and to challenge themselves; be creative and be confident when encountering new experiences.

No words can be a supplement for a visit.

We warmly encourage parents to visit to make sure our Nursery is right for your child.

Christmas 2016

The children performed a beautiful Nativity for their parents. They all looked wonderful in their costumes, the Angels sparkled and the wise men looked so regal. Mary and Joseph looked lovely together and donkey did a great job of getting them to Bethlehem!  We hope that those of you who came have a lovely memory of your child's first Nativity performance.

Fun in the autumn leaves.

We made chocolate shredded wheat birds nest cakes. They were yummy!
