Phonics

Please ensure your child follows the Phonics lessons daily. This will support your child to read. In Reception, they need to learn Set 1 followed by Set 2. Please click on the link and watch the lesson virtually. Each day, a new sound will be added.

 

The Video's will be live from 9.30am and will last for 24 hours.

L.O: To write a short sentence

To describe Goldilocks. 

-Recap the story of Goldilocks, can you remember the story and the actions?.

 

Watch the video under this timetable, it will explain todays task. 

 

Today you are going to write a short sentence with 2 words in. 

- Choose an item to write about (E.G - dress)

- Put this item into a short sentence E.G: The dress.

-Use the tips from the video to write a short sentence including 2 words.

 

Challenge - 

- Add a describing word into your sentence E.G: The blue dress.

 

The word 'the' is one of our tricky words, so your child should know how to read and write this word. If your child is struggling to write the second word, they can write the sound it begins with E.G: The d for dress

L.O: To find the total of two amounts

 

Watch yesterday's video again. 

It introduces the + and = symbols. 

Today you can complete sheet 4. 

Complete the number sentences by counting the dots to add them altogether.  

Can you read the number sentences such as ' 2 plus 2 equals 4'?

L.O- To discuss what makes a good friend. 

 

Watch the story of The Billy Goats Gruff below. 

 

Task- 

Can you draw the characters in the story? The troll, big billy goat, medium billy goat and little billy goat. 

- Talk about the characters within the story and write key words around your picture. such as 'bad troll' 'brave goat' 

- Talk about the troll...

Is he a nice troll or a bad troll?

What does he do that is not very nice?

what should he have said to the billy goats?  'He should of been kind and let them cross'

 

Now talk about what makes a kind friend.

What would you do if you was the troll? would you be a kind friend and let them cross?

Can you write words to describe a kind friend such as 'kind, love, share, help, play nicely'
