Morning challenge/ letter formation

Use the green work book in your learning packs to practise writing the letter 'm.'



Please ensure your child follows the phonics lessons daily. This will support your child to read. In Reception, they need to learn Set 1, followed by Set 2. Please click on the link and watch the lesson virtually. Each day, a new sound will be added.

  • to hold a pencil and practise letter formation
  • to write your name
  • to speak in full sentences


L.O: To use language to imagine and create roles in play situations

Speaking and Listening

-Look at photos attached below (crime scene)

- Discuss what you can see? Who do you think has made the mess? Where has she come from? What have they damaged? Why is there porridge on the floor? Why has the chair broken?

- Encourage children to speak in full sentences

-After a short discussion, re-read the story of Goldilocks and the Three Bears (this can be found on the remote learning page) and talk about what happens in the story 

Maths (AM)

L.O: To find the total of two amounts

-Focus on numbers 1-5

-Use resources in your house (pasta, cereal, counters)

- Find two small amounts and add them together eg. 2+1=3

- Use words like (addition, add, plus) (altogether, total, equals)


L.O: To know the Jesus got lost in a Temple

Talk about: 

• What did he do?

• Where did he go?

  • How did his mum and dad feel?
  • What happened?


Have a discussion about how Jesus' parents felt when he went missing. Encourage your child to speak in full sentences.
